The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl Champions!

The Philadelphia Eagles have won the Super Bowl for a second time! You had to know one of my two non weight loss posts this month would have some Philly sports love in there. You could feel the excitement in the air (assuming you had the sound on haha) from the second Bradley Cooper started his introduction of the team.

It was the most enjoyable Eagles game I've watched from home. I don't care who the opponent was. We would have crushed any team that day. We were just THAT good and they seized just about every play. And how about Cooper DeJean??? Literally every player put their heart and soul out on the field that day and I am so proud of them all.

Growing Up an Eagles Fan

Being raised in an Eagles household has influenced my life to this day. Sundays were reserved for game day, rushing home after church to make sure we got home for the kickoff. Quite honestly, now that I have kids, I can't imagine my child watching the games with me, especially since during my childhood I would stand off to the side of the living room and pretend I was an Eagle cheerleader and do cheers for everything. I flip out if anyone even talks to me during plays now haha. Or maybe that was my training for my current fandom?

Watching a couple games at Lincoln Financial Field in the last few years was everything I ever thought it would be (I grew up going to Sixers and Phillies games, no doubt due to the costs) . The electrifying atmosphere at the Linc—when the crowd erupts after a touchdown, or the team rallies for a defensive stand—creates a sense of belonging, a sense of unity. Every game is not just a game but an experience, although I prefer the experiences without heart attacks most.

Eagles Nation

The Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl victory means so much to every Philly sports fan and to our Eagles Nation. It's about more than just football; it represents our childhood, a way of life, a family where when you go to the game, there is no politics, no religion, just love and football. And we are all one big family. I know it's hard for outsiders to truly understand what this game and this team means to us (without going with me to the Linc). In one word, it means EVERYTHING. I will enjoy this Super Bowl win for a long time, the rest of my life. As I always say, win or lose, I bleed green. Fly, Eagles, Fly!

Philly Sports Fans

Being an Eagles fan means so much more than just watching games; it is woven into the fabric of our identity. Philadelphia's sports culture thrives on resilience, pride, and unity. We've heard all of the comments about Eagles fan. We see the media seeking out and highlighting Eagles fans in a negative way. Heck, we still hear about Santa Claus getting hit with snowballs. You know what I think of you when you tell me those things without actually experiencing any of it and just using what you hear online thinking it's a dig to me and my fellow fans? Nothing. No one likes us and we don't care! Keep hating. If you don't want to know the real fans in this fanbase and the love we have in this family, then take a seat. I am passionate about my team and if all you want to do is talk shit (which I don't do for your team) then fuck you, respectfully. That's not my kind of people, just in life. I respect my friends and all of their teams and passions. I just tell them that I will root for their team except when they are playing mine. Amazing how many out there are haters just because of the teams I cheer for.

Looking Ahead: Sixers Game Next Month

In just a few weeks, I will head to Target Center here in Minneapolis for a Sixers Wolves game. Regardless of the score (let's face it, rough year for my Sixers so far), my support to my team remains strong. My favorite part about going to Philly games here in Minneapolis is seeing all of my other fans and talking to them and cheering with them. Philly fans travel well and it's as close to a home game as I get until who knows when.

But come spring training (which is coming soon!), we'll focus on the Phillies and hope that this is their year too! One of my bucket list items is to see a Philly Sports team in the playoffs in person in my lifetime. You hear that Harper? LFG!
